There Is No Minimum

Writer: Brandon WoodruffBrandon Woodruff

Sometimes I feel like I write the same post about different topics, but it’s for a reason. The common thread is that if you aren’t making fitness progress, then you absolutely have to break the molds of what you think has to happen.

Programming a workout plan is another example of this. Some people grew up seeing the fittest of society working out 6 or 7 days a week and making great progress. Others think that a 3 day a week splits are the way to go to get adequate stress and recovery to effect the change they want.

And yet, despite their knowledge and opinions, people actually wind up working out a total of zero times per week. They can never block out a couple of hours to go to the gym.

I’d like to share something with you quickly. There is no minimum on this. If you’re not doing anything, then literally anything is better than what you’re doing now. If you’re already doing something, then adding a little can help a lot. I’ve written workout plans for people who literally go in, warm up, do three sets of one lift, and leave. They leave. It takes 15 minutes. And they make progress.

If you want to make progress, I’m begging you, stop trying to copy other people’s plans. Ignore the people who critique or criticize and do what will actually make a difference in your life. Don’t be paralyzed by the pursuit of somebody else’s perfection.

And if you need help, message me. I literally do this as my job.
