I’d say one of the best things you can do to get a handle on your eating is to
use an app like MyFitnessPal to track your food for a while, and pay attention to what has how many calories.
I could say “cut out sugar” or “eat smaller portions,” or any number of other things, and those will definitely help you to cut down calories by default, but I’d rather you understand the process and what foods “cost” you the most calories. Then, you can make informed decisions on what you want to “spend” them on.
Nobody wants to monitor their eating. Food is great and should be enjoyed. But if you want to see change, you have to make changes.
