Motivation Monday 2/11

Writer: Brandon WoodruffBrandon Woodruff

A lot of people do the whole “Motivation Monday” thing. Motivation is great, but it comes and goes, and you know you’ve made serious progress when you are no longer dependent on motivation to make

progress.

Instead, I want to do a “Mindset Monday” post. Here’s one for today!:

When you’ve slipped on your eating for a day or so, or you’ve missed some workouts, don’t think of it is having to “get back on track.” When you’re driving and you hit a pothole, you don’t stop, re-evaluate, and then get back in the car and then continue on. Unless you’ve severely damaged your car, you just keep driving. Do the same with your fitness plan.

If you always say “I’ll get back on track Monday” or something like that, you’re telling yourself you’ve failed and you’ve put one more barrier between yourself and your goals. Failure is discouraging and can be debilitating. Stop that. Just keep going. Veering off the track here and there and learning how keep moving is part of the process.

Now, there is a time to feel that you’ve failed and when you need to re-evaluate. But it isn’t when you’ve slipped for a few days.

If you need some help or are looking for an online coach, message me. I’m happy to help.
