Most people struggle with the diet aspect of their fitness journeys the most. Obviously, eating the right amount is an issue for people, but this becomes less of a problem when the right foods are included in a meal plan. Two things are common problems even for those who know exactly how to structure an eating plan:
1. Lack of money: Food isn’t cheap and we’ve all heard the whole “McDonalds is cheaper than healthy food” thing.
2. Lack of preparation: Our time is limited, and we don’t want to deplete hours of it in the kitchen prepping food.
These have both been issues for me. As a result, I have decided to focus on foods that are both affordable and easy to prepare.
These posts are meant to share my discoveries so that you can meet your goals whilst saving time and money.
Chicken legs are one of the cheapest meats you can buy. For this recipe, I literally open the chicken, put it on a pan, pour hot sauce on it, sprinkle the seasoned salt, and put it in the oven at 400 degrees for abut 45 minutes. It costs me less than 9 dollars (the sauce and salt will make this recipe at least 4 times), and probably a total of 5 minutes. I eat two or three each weekday for lunch. It might not pass a Gordon Ramsay test, but it will give you a solid lunch with plenty of protein. Add some canned greens and some chips and salsa, and you’ve got a cheap, healthy meal with minimal prep.
