Why The Scale Doesn't Matter as Much as You Think

Writer: Brandon WoodruffBrandon Woodruff

Losing and gaining BODY FAT is NOT the same as losing and gaining WEIGHT.

The number on the scale can move up temporarily because:

-You ate more salt than usual (causing you to temporarily hold more water).

-You didn't weigh at the same time or in the same state each day (fasted vs fed, clothed vs unclothed, etc)

-You haven't pooped as much today

And many more reasons. None of which have anything to do with gaining body fat.

Please, stop letting the scale have so much power over you.

It's good as a measurement of progress over a long period, but using it as a day to day metric is like using a fork to eat cereal.
