"Good" and "Bad" Foods?

Writer: Brandon WoodruffBrandon Woodruff

I made this infographic a while back, and have actually received a little negativity about this way of thinking.

I want to clarify this. I don’t like to call foods “good” and “bad.” I think it’s an unhealthy way of looking at it. Calling a food “bad” brings with it a sense of shame and failure. People who are trying to make fitness a part of their lives have often experienced quite enough of that, and it does nothing but harm.

It is much healthier to think of foods in terms of frequency. You should definitely have some foods more often than others, hence the frequency categories, but being overly restrictive is often the killer of progress. Here’s the infographic without a single edit from the original.
