Twenty-four of my biggest "productivity hacks:”
1. Time-blocking my day.
2. Using the Pomodoro technique of working to get my tasks done in minimal time.
3. Reading my Bible and praying daily (keeps me focused and my priorities in check).
4. Kindly yet aggressively avoiding all but the most important meetings and phone calls.
5. Lifting weights 6x weekly and always pushing for more weight.
6. Turning off notifications for certain stretches of the day.
7. Keeping a master checklist containing EVERYTHING I do divided by day, week, month, and one-time "to-do's" in an app called Habitica.
8. Eating for my goals, consuming mostly whole foods, and enjoying whatever else I want.
9. Time-blocking a stretch of time each day where I ensure I've replied to every message or comment across all platforms.
10. Replying to people often with video or audio instead of text.
11. Keeping a meticulous calendar that I share with my wife and connect to Calendly for quick appointment scheduling.
12. Walmart grocery pickup.
13. Automatic recurring payments for group clients.
14. Paying absolutely zero attention to the news.
15. Not arguing or debating online unless (a) A “Christian” is acting like a jerk and needs to be called on it or (b) Someone is spreading bad fitness info.
16. Avoiding watching my competition except to learn from what they do well.
17. Having clear “stretch goals” in my business and personal life.
18. Minimalizing my life as much as possible, both materially and schedule-wise.
19. Not trying to be perfect with my content, just trying to be helpful.
20. Always being in motion and taking action, but building in time to evaluate what's effective and adjust.
21. Getting 99% of my learning and self-improvement from podcasts and audiobooks.
22. Drinking coffee 3-4 times a day, spread evenly, with the last cup being at least 4 hours before bed.
23. Desperately trying to get 7-8 hours of sleep each night.
24. Using but never scrolling social media.
One I'm working on now:
-Getting up and going to bed at the same time each day. I’m a night person and honestly feel awful all day when I get up early despite trying. So, I’m working toward a 12-8 sleep schedule now.
